Dr. Lindsay Fennessy

Medical Director

Dr. Lindsay Fennessy was born in upstate New York. Dr. Fennessy received her BS in Animal Science and DVM from Cornell University. Following graduation in 2012, she moved to Tampa to complete a one-year rotating internship at BluePearl. Dr. Fennessy has a special interest in Oncology and stayed at BluePearl for an additional year, completing an internship in Oncology.

Dr. Fennessy has been with Alafia River Animal Hospital since 2015. Above all else, she values the relationships she has built with her clients and patients for over 10 years. Dr. Fennessy has interests in preventative care and works hard to create treatment plans that are best for clients and their beloved pets. She considers it a great privilege to work at the same hospital for so long, allowing her to take care of her patients from a young age to their senior years.

Dr. Fennessy loves spending time with her two sons and husband. When she is not working, she is often traveling the world. On Sundays, she can be found in front of a TV, cheering on the Buffalo Bills (Go Bills!).

Dr. Hyatt

DVM

Dr. Thomas Hyatt was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Hyatt received his BS and DVM degrees in Tuskegee, Alabama at the esteemed Tuskegee University. He moved to Atlanta, GA to start his career and honed his skill as a veterinarian. While in Atlanta, Dr. Hyatt received both his AVCA, Certified Animal Chiropractor and CVA, Veterinary Acupuncture certifications.

Dr. Hyatt moved to Central Florida in 2014, where he continues to provide a variety of services including surgeries for his patients. In 2015, Dr. Hyatt purchased his clinic, Hiawassee Clarcona Ocoee Pet Hospital in Orlando, FL. Dr. Hyatt prides himself on spending ample time with his clients and curating treatment plans specifically for each patient’s case to promote optimal recovery and healing outcomes. Dr. Hyatt has a special affinity for pet nutrition and how food aids in healing for pets.

Dr. Hyatt and his amazing staff are laser-focused on providing a space for middle and high school students to find their place in veterinary medicine. Dr. Hyatt created a volunteer program to not just allow students to volunteer but be taught and mentored through their journey to veterinary medicine.

Dr. Hyatt currently resides west of Orlando with his wife, Cassandra, his dog Seymour. In his free time, Dr. Hyatt enjoys deep sea fishing, scuba diving, traveling, and music.
